More US Success for North East Owned Mare
Prominant Victorian owner/breeder Bob Scarborough was back in the winners' circle in the US at the weekend following yet another stakes victory for Mauralakana in the Group Two New York Stakes at Belmont.
Front-running 6YO stallion Stormhill (Danehill-Torrential Storm by Sir Tristram) has been retired following last weekend's Gr2 O'Shea Stakes (2200m) at Eagle Farm & will stand his 1st season at stud at Victoria's Bullarook Park Stud - Avenel.
Riva San backed up from last week's Queensland Oaks success to become only the fourth filly to secure the Oaks-Derby double and her trainer Peter Moody has his sights set firmly on the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups.
Sad news for followers of colonial bloodlines today with the news of the passing of one of our prime producing mares in Cotehele House at her home, Wood Nook Farm.
